With the increase in knowledge-based services, which constitute over 55.5% of all services, and an increase in the importance of mid-office processes, whose share exceeded 50% for the first time, the focus of businesses is shifting from increases mostly understood in terms of higher employment into quality factors – productivity, progress, automation, and innovation
BSS in Krakow is offering more jobs
The number of employees in centres located in Poland was 457,100 in Q1 2024, growth of 3.8% per annum. More than a half of new jobs were created in three locations – Krakow, Warsaw and Wrocław. Krakow has already crossed the threshold of 100,000 employees in the sector, and maintains the highest average employment rate (351), over 30% higher than the Poland’s average. Twenty-five centres in Krakow employ 1,000 or more people (58.6% of total employment in the sector in Krakow). The data show that the sector alone has a strong local specialization footprint in Krakow. For another year in a row, our city continues to lead the ABSL ranking in the category of highly skilled employees, which is crucial from the perspective of sector development based on highly specialized services.
‘For years now, higher education institutions in Krakow have been a significant argument when attracting investors. They provide high-quality education in a more and more modern and innovative manner. Human resources, and cooperation between business and higher education institution are also appreciated, as they play an important role in the sector’s transformation. Better innovation or higher demand for IT professionals means that investors want to make sure to have access to employees with the desired skills,’ says Stanisław Mazur, Deputy Mayor of the City of Krakow, adding: ‘For years now, Krakow has been highly valued for its extensive business infrastructure conducive to the development of international investment and an excellent, well-connected location.’
